**Koh Chang** — 320 km southeast of Bangkok, near the Cambodian border. Thailand's second-largest island. Less developed than Phuket — jungle, waterfalls, secluded beaches. Ferry crossing required from Trat. Best Oct–Apr.

### 9.3 What you receive after booking

- A booking confirmation email with a unique booking code (looks like `123-ABCDEFGHIJKL`).
- **Closer to the pickup time** (typically 12–24 hours before), the driver's name, photo, phone number, vehicle license plate, and exact pickup meeting point.
- For airport pickups: a confirmation of the standard pickup point (after customs: Level 4 Departures near Gate 4 at Suvarnabhumi, Level 3 Departures at Don Mueang). If you've added the THB 100 signboard greeter service, that's confirmed here.

### 9.4 Modifying or cancelling

- See section 12 (Cancellation and changes) for the fees.
- **Free changes and cancellations** up to 24 hours before pickup — contact us through whichever channel you booked on.
- Later than that, a cancellation or a change of date, pickup time or route costs a fee (section 12). Updating your hotel in the same area, your flight number, or the number of passengers or bags stays free.

Many first-time visitors to Thailand land at BKK or DMK with:
- No Thai SIM card yet
- No LINE or WhatsApp installed
- No way to receive an SMS from the driver
- Need to reach the driver before exiting customs

Our app solves all of this by being a self-contained communication channel:

- **In-app messaging** — works on airport free Wi-Fi, no SIM needed. A person answers it, within the hours below.
- **Email-OTP login** — no Thai phone number required, log in with your email anywhere in the world

## 11. Payment & Pricing Policies

### 11.1 How to pay

**Cash to the driver, on arrival.**

- You pay the driver in **Thai Baht** at the drop-off point, and you pay exactly the listed price.
- There is no deposit and no prepayment, and the booking has no payment step. We never see or store card details (PayPal handles the card).
- Both Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang have ATMs and exchange counters past customs, so you can draw Baht before you meet the car.

**By card, through a PayPal payment link.**

- If you can only pay by card, for example because you have not changed money yet, message us on WhatsApp or LINE and we send a PayPal payment link; a 5% fee is added.

### 11.2 Currency

- All listed prices are in **Thai Baht (THB)** and are paid in Thai Baht.
- We do not pre-calculate USD/EUR/JPY/KRW equivalents; rates move, and a number we printed last month would mislead you today.

## 12. Cancellation and changes

The cancellation and change policy of Smile Taxi Service, from 2 October 2026 (full text: https://www.smiletaxiservice.com/en/terms, section 5):
- It applies to every booking, also when you pay the driver in cash. The time counts from the scheduled pickup time (Thailand time) to when your message reaches us on WhatsApp, LINE or email.
- 24 hours or more before pickup: free.
- Less than 24 hours and at least 12 hours before pickup: 25% of the booking price.
- Less than 12 hours and at least 2 hours before pickup: 35% of the booking price.
- Less than 2 hours before pickup: 50% of the booking price.
- No-show, or a cancellation or change after the pickup time: 100% of the booking price.
- A change means a new date, pickup time or route. A new hotel or address in the same area, a new flight number, or a different number of passengers or bags is free. A flight delay is not a change: the airport waiting rules apply.
- No deposit is taken when you pay the driver. Fees for late cancellations and changes are charged by PayPal payment request; if you prepaid through a PayPal link, the fee is deducted from the refund.
- Bookings made before 2 October 2026: the fees apply to pickups from 4 October 2026.
- Why: for a long trip the driver keeps the whole day for your booking and turns down other work, so a late cancellation leaves the driver without work that day.

### 12.1 Add-ons and special cases

- Add-on requests (child seat, signboard greeter, language preference) can be added up to 12 hours before pickup.
- **Flight delay** — someone here looks your flight number up before the driver sets off, so a delayed landing moves the pickup. If the delay is significant we hold the driver as long as practical. For very long delays (4+ hours), we may need to reassign to another driver — communicated via app chat or messaging.
- **Missed flight on your side** — contact us as soon as you know. Moving the trip to another day is a change, so the fees above apply.
- **Weather closures** (rare — typhoons, floods) — the trip can be rearranged: message us on WhatsApp or LINE.

## 13. Airport Pickup Procedures

Each airport has slightly different logistics. The details below assume you've booked through us in advance.

### 13.1 Suvarnabhumi (BKK) — Bangkok's primary international airport

- **Standard pickup point:** After you exit customs, go up to Level 4 (Departures) and out through the doors near Gate 4; the car waits in the pickup lane. The exact spot is confirmed the day before.
- **Driver behavior:** Someone here checks your flight number before the driver sets off, so a delayed landing moves the pickup.
- **First 60 minutes free** for immigration, baggage claim, and customs — no charge.
- **Optional name sign at the arrivals exit:** +THB 100. Recommended for first-time visitors, large groups, or non-English speakers.
- **Free airport Wi-Fi** is reliable — use it to message dispatch via our app or LINE if you can't find the driver.
- **Currency exchange** is available pre-customs and post-customs; ATMs are widely available.

### 13.2 Don Mueang (DMK) — Bangkok's low-cost / domestic / budget international airport

- **Standard pickup point:** Level 3 (Departures). The exact door depends on your terminal (Terminal 1 for international, Terminal 2 for domestic) and is in the message you get the day before.
- Same free-wait, signboard, and Wi-Fi rules as BKK.
- DMK is smaller and easier to navigate than BKK; meet-up is usually faster.

### 13.3 U-Tapao (UTP) — Pattaya / Rayong area

- **Standard pickup point:** Outside the arrivals terminal.
- Small airport, only a few flights per day; meet-up is straightforward.
- Published routes from UTP: Pattaya and Ban Phe Pier (Koh Samet), quoted by the desks that cover them. For other destinations from UTP, request a custom quote.

### 13.4 Best practices for the smoothest pickup

1. **Book at least 24 hours in advance** when possible. Same-day bookings are accepted but subject to driver availability.
2. **Add your flight number** to the booking — someone here checks it by hand before the driver leaves.
3. **Confirm the meeting point in writing** (via app chat or email) the day before. Sometimes there's a specific door number or pillar number.
4. **On landing**, send a quick chat message: "I have landed, picking up bags now." This lets the driver pre-position.
5. **If you can't find the driver after 10–15 minutes** at the published meeting point — message via app/chat immediately. Drivers occasionally need to circle the curb due to airport security; this is normal.
6. **Bring local currency** for the fare (cash to the driver), tips or small purchases; the airport ATMs and exchange counters work.

Khao Yai is not a tour package, so there is no fixed day price: a day with the driver from their Bangkok hotel is quoted by message. The one-way Suvarnabhumi → Khao Yai transfer has a fixed fare (section 6.1); a van suits the family.

### 16.7 Photographer wants to see Ayutthaya temples at sunrise and sunset same day
Not a tour package, so no fixed fare: a multi-stop day quoted by message via the contact form. Sedan + early departure (4:30 AM from Bangkok) + late return.

### 16.8 Couple wants ferry to Koh Samet
Smile Taxi to BanPhe Pier. They take the public ferry across (we do not operate boats). On the return day, Smile Taxi picks them up from BanPhe Pier. Two one-way bookings, or book it as a round trip — round trips get a discount, priced by message.
